My name is KJ Kearney and I am a streetwear enthusiast based in Charleston, South Carolina. I created H1GHER LEARNING as a way to connect with anyone doing anything positive to develop the Southern streetwear scene. And for the first couple of years I only wrote about things that appealed primarily to Southern streetwear enthusiast.
BUT…
I love ALL of streetwear, not just that of the Southern variety so in September of 2011 I decided to expand my coverage of streetwear from JUST that of the Southern variety to covering a wider array of brands.
WHY?
A wise man once told me that “Dope is dope!” While I agree with that sentiment, my site wasn’t an accurate reflection of my belief in that philosophy.
BESIDES…
There doesn’t really seem to be a place dedicated to streetwear anymore. People that will always have a special place in their heart for tee shirts and camo cargo shorts. So hopefully this site can become a meeting place for streetwear enthusiast from all over the world.
NEW TO H1GHER LEARNING?
In addition to information about product releases, streetwear related events, and music I like to indulge in the creation of longer editorial style pieces that discuss my thoughts about streetwear, branding, and marketing. So, just in case this is your first visit to H1GHER LEARNING, I’ve selected a couple of those editorial style postings to give you an idea of what to expect from your time here.

KJ,
I read an old article you did called “Bent Brim Syndrome”.
I was wondering if you could email me the method you used to get the hat bill bent upwards.
Thanks
