MIXTAPE: Continental GT – “Nice For Life” Hosted by DJ Cannon Banyon.

Columbia, South Carolina based rapper Continental GT has been one of the nicest out of the Palmetto State in a while and his newest mixtape does nothing to deter me from that statement. It just wish that at least ONE dude from the home state would be able to break through that glass ceiling and make some noise outside of their respective blocks. No shots at GT, I’m just tired of seeing all this talent be wasted on ears that are only checking for what’s on BET or being played on their local radio stations. I mean, some of the hottest people in the game right now (Mack Miller, A$AP Rocky, Kendrick Lamar, Mr. Muthafuckin Esquire, etc.) don’t see a lick of radio spins and they still have mass followings and are able to carve a nice life out for themselves.

Sorry about that…just had to vent a little. Anyway, this project is hosted by DJ Cannon Banyon and has a couple dope guest features that, unless you’re into the South Carolina hip-hop scene, you probably don’t know about so I’ll save my breath.

SMH–something has gotta give. At times, I do allow myself to wonder who that guy/gal that will become the catalyst for South Carolina hip-hop is going to be. Take a listen to Continental GT’s “N.F.L.” mixtape if you don’t mind and let me know if you think he has the skills to be the one.
