On December 14, 2011 the Power Forward Blake Griffin unintentionally created a term that every basketball fan hopes manifest itself to reality.
Upon hearing the news that All-Star point guard Chris Paul had just been traded to the Los Angeles Clippers, Blake excitedly screams to his teammate (and fellow brother-in-arms when it comes to this dunking stuff) DeAndre Jordan that LA was now going to be referred to as LOB CITY.
So while Kobe Bryant Lakers fans are pissed (and rightfully so as all signs originally pointed towards Paul heading to their team), all you brand new bandwagon Clippers fans now have something to shout in response to any Lakers supporter that dares utter the words “Showtime” in your presence. In fact, I’ve found five tees for the new Los Angeles Lob City fan in your life that will say those sweet words on their behalf.
