ROYL is an acronym for the Rest of Your Life and was started by college roommates Alex Parker and Steven Milton. While I like certain pieces from this particular range (particularly the “Mike Check” tee above), it’s not “cohesive” enough for my liking. Instead of looking like a real collection in which all products are designed around a certain idea or concept, the ROYL Fall 2011 line seems like they just bunch a couple of their most recent graphics together. While not a deathblow, it does leave me wanting more. The “bunch the graphics we like and call it a collection” syndrome is not unique to ROYL so as many newer brands fall prey to the same mindset. But hopefully this will get improved upon as they brand grows, I’d really like to seem them succeed.  If you like what you see, pick up some pieces via the ROYL online store.
