Cargo pants are pants adorned with side pockets. Most basic cargo pants have one big pocket, per leg, with a flap covering held down with buttons or Velco and generally have accordion folds in the sides of said pocket for increased capacity. They are traditionally used by military personnel as a part of their uniform because of their tough build and ability to carry more than the average pair of pants but like many utilitarian military items, we style mongers have scooped and scored for civilian usage. You know, for important things like playing pant ball, performing in step shows, wearing to the club, or pairing with button up shirts and dress shoes.

Obviously the camo cargo short came after the camo cargo pant but that doesn’t make them a second class clothing item. Camo cargo shorts are an essential item in the wardrobe of any self respecting streetwear enthusiast but especially that of a Seersuckered Hypebeast because of our temperate climate. Where else but the South can you rock shorts 10 months out of the year?

I can honestly say that these camo cargo shorts by Steve and Berry are some of the best shorts I’ve ever owned in my life. I’ve had them for at least three years and, I must reiterate, because I live in an area where shorts are permissible almost year-round, trust me when I say I got plenty of wear our of them. And I might have spent $30 on these things.

As you can see my shorts finally gave up the ghost. A vertical rip (#NoSpongebob) on the right side of my shorts has reared its ugly head. But has that stopped me from wearing them? Heck naw. I will be taking these to a seamstress to either have them sewn back together or have a patch put in place. I know you can’t tell but these are green camo shorts however I was thinking of having them patched with black denim or maybe a tiger camo pattern instead. Something to break up the monotony, ya know?

If they can’t be salvaged then I’ll be on the hunt for some more. I’ll keep you posted.
