Hollywood via Houston rapper cARTer looks like he’s been on that Kanye workout plan–but that’s neither here nor there.
Last night I happened to stumble upon this song and I wanted to do a bit of research on the ChaseNCashe before I posted this track. Turns out that C&C Factory (I had to do it, bruh) is a producer slash rapper from New Orleans and a member of the Surf Club, a music collective of producers, writers, rappers, and singers. He’s currently on the Zone 4 roster, an imprint headed by Polow Da Don, and along with ChaseNCashe’s partner Hit-Boy, have work with a host of major label artist.
That’s all I needed to see.
This video, produced by DGTLWW, finds cARTer and ChaseNCashe following over a Southern rap instrumental that’s near and dear to many fans hearts although I will admit it that it was the title of the song that compelled me to listen. The actual “Bayou Classic” is a the annual match up between Grambling State and Southern University’s respective football teams that’s has been going on since the 70s. The song doesn’t really have a damn thing to do with football but I do like the fact that two Southern rappers would get together to flow over a popular Southern hip-hop track and name it after a popular Southern event. I don’t know who’s idea it was but that was smart thinking. I’m already a semi-fan of cARTer; I’m not a bigger one because I don’t hear enough of his music. Regardless, this is a pretty slick track and I wanted to shine to some light on two dudes doing their thing that you may not be aware of yet.
Considered yourself enlightened.
