This is why I love this kid.

Is he the best rapper alive, heck no! But he makes your favorite rapper look mad lazy by comparison. DeAndre Way will be turning 20 on July 28th and he’s having a huge blow out party. Understanding that the majority of his fans won’t be able to attend this fiesta he has turned his Hollywood celebration into a PAY-PER-VIEW event. Yeah, you read right…if you can’t get in won’t be in California for the party then for the low, low price of $2.99 you can PRETEND you were there and watch him “Crank dat” all night long.

Pay. To. Watch. Him. Party. Putting aside your personal feelings about him as a rapper, if you don’t think this is a genius idea then leave this website right now. In fact–and I hate using this term but–I think that you’re just being a HATER!

Yeah, you probably won’t be spending that money and even though I’m a huge Soulja Boy fan, I’ll be damned if I spend that $3. But I’m sure he already knew that so he isn’t studying us–he’s focused on the 50,000 extra hard core fans between the age of 12-17 (I’d assume mostly female too) that will pony that cheese up OR beg Mommy to whip out her credit card. And at $2.99 it’s much cheaper than attending one of his concerts (gas, tickets, parking, food, merchandise) so Mommy will probably pay up. And you can watch this from your phone? Sheeeeeit, say it with me: GAME CHANGER.

Think if someone you actually respect did something like this. Maybe a Jay-Z or Outkast type of artist. And let’s say they didn’t do this for something as trivial as a party but rather a big event like benefit concert! Yall texted some random number so that some company could bill your cellular provider for $5 on behalf of Haiti, you mean to tell me you wouldn’t have spent $10 to get some streaming video with that order? Imagine if/when Beyonce’ and Lady Gaga get on this train. It’ll be a murder!

This is some big boy stuff and I salute the kid for being bold enough to try it. So what if only 1000 people pay for the glorified Ustream to his party, that’s still $2990 more than I made at my last birthday party.
