Although I do not know what the future holds for this website, I do know that ever since I’ve started this thing WAAAAY back in November of last year I’ve been fortunate enough to meet with and speak to other Southerners that are as passionate about the streetwear culture as I am. I had a wonderful time speaking with Daniel of Esperanza getting background information on the project they did with Creative Loafing of Atlanta and apparently he had a good time too, as he showed love to me and my cause on his company’s blog recently.
Daniel doesn’t limited Esperanza to the “streetwear” term, rather branding themselves as a full service design company and I’m not mad at that. The truth of the matter is, there really isn’t a Southern streetwear scene to speak of so they are probably doing the smart thing by avoiding that label. However, we identify with each other and share the same views on the development of our culture so with that being said they will always be a “streetwear” company to me.
Deal with it Danny.
But it’s all good though. Despite their label, Esperanza is a Southern brand ran by good people and destined for good things. Quote me on that.
