If you’re new to this site then you aren’t familiar with when I had a fit about the most disrespectful, sorry excuse for a mixtape cover that mashed up a picture of Malcolm X & Young Jeezy I had ever seen in my life. Honestly, it’s probably the worst mixtape cover ever created and I made no bones about my feelings on its design and especially its execution. Thank goodness for Craig Sprecher, the talented graphic artist responsible for the artwork you see above.
For those of you keeping tabs at home, hip-hop has produced “All Black”, “All Yellow”, and now “All White” everything songs. So in the spirit of unity I figured why not round out the Rainbow Coalition of hip-hop? A full color spectrum of rappers and the colors I think they look good in #MaybeHomo.
ALL BLUE EVERYTHING
Pretty much a no-brainer on this color. Snoop has been Cripin’ since been Cripin’ since been Cripin’. On a side note, his “Blue Carpet Treatment” was a pretty dope album too.
ALL RED EVERYTHING
Obviously we’d need to pick someone that has already shown an affinity for rouge and all of its hues. The three names that come to mind are The Game, Mack 10, and Weezy F. Baby (please say the baby). Mack 10 was the first rapper that I can remember openly representing the Bloods and is obviously the sole inspiration for Baby and Wayne’s decision to join the Blood Club but since he’s no longer relevant he gets cut.
That leaves Wayne and The Game. Both artist are popular. Both artist are relevant. Both rep their sets. The Game gets bonus points for representing since he got on with Dre and 50 Cent. Although Weezy was late to the game he has been representing HARD in almost every damn song he’s been on since then. Then you factor in that he’s probably the second most popular rapper in the world behind Jay-Z and I have to tip my hat to him. This isn’t a “who’s the better Blood” conversation, it’s a color contest so with that being said: Weezy wins.
ALL PINK EVERYTHING
Cam’ron. Moving on…
ALL GREEN EVERYTHING
Green is a tricky color. Depending on the shade you could look like a tree or a neon light. But right now the only person that seems to have taken a shining to the color green is Waka Flocka Flame. He even had Diddy throwing that green flag in his “Oh let’s do it” remix video. Not to mention he has a song called “Everything Green” featured on his “Lebron Flocak James pt. 2” mixtape. So, yeah I kinda cheated on this one but he made it so easy for me. Who else am I supposed to pick?
ALL GREY EVERYTHING
Other than his love for the Ronnie Fieg designed grey Red Wing boots, I think Toronto’s native son Drake is kinda emo (or is that just me?). Not saying that he’s not talented, because he is and his first week sales of his debut LP “Thank Me Later” kinda proved that, but he’s way more emotional than you’re probably used to seeing from a rapper. It’s not a bad thing because he has been able to make that work for him and it’s not like he’s trap rapping like The Clipse–dude is singing on like every song so it’s cool if he bares his soul. I know that the “ALL BLACK” look is unofficial colorway of the emo nation but Jay-Z already took that and grey can be a depressing color, you know cuz it’s all grey and gloomy. Just ask the city of Seattle.
ALL PURPLE EVERYTHING
No, Big Boi is not a the biggest smoker in rap (see: Wiz Khalifa, Curren$y, Devin the Dude) but he has made it known that he is no stranger to that purp’. He also runs a record label called Purple Ribbon Records that besides “Kryptonite” hasn’t really came with anything worth listening to. Purple is such a regal color. It stands for royalty and there is no group in the South more worthy of that distinction than Outkast. Now, some may say that such a regal color should be associated with the man in Atlanta that calls himself the King and I can’t say that I don’t see their point. But be serious, you going to pick T.I. over Outkast as the “rulers” of Southern hip-hop? Yeah, I thought not.
TOO COLORFUL FOR JUST ONE COLOR
Young Dro, N.E.R.D., Ti$a, Cee-Lo Green, Master P, Diddy, Gucci Mane’s necklaces, The Clipse, Juelz Santana, Flo-Rida, Paul Wall’s grill.

not to be critical but I feel like you should have made mention of Jay-Z blue. Its a patented and trademarked hue. see http://www.hiphopdx.com/index/news/id.4784/title.jay-z-blue-the-new-color-for-gmc for article and http://www.darksidemotoring.com/images/news/jay-z-blue-denali.jpg .
